KEP (Citizens' Service Centers) are designed to help citizens interact with public administration. They provide access to various services such as applications for public documents, permits, and certificates. KEP offices streamline bureaucratic processes, offering both in-person and digital services.

The role of KEP is to be the direct point of contact between the public and government services. To visit a KEP, you can use the KEP website to locate the nearest office by selecting your region or municipality.

Services Offered

KEP offers a range of services to simplify transactions for local residents or non-residents. These include:

  1. Certificate of signature authenticity: This refers to official validation that your signature is genuine, often required for legal or administrative processes. Documents like identity cards, passports, or driver's licenses can be used.
  2. Certificate of copy for public or private documents: KEP can issue certified copies of documents like diplomas, birth certificates, or contracts, confirming they are true copies of the originals.
  3. Physical identification for digital authentication: This is when you provide ID in person to create or verify a digital profile, allowing access to online government services securely.
  4. Obtain an authentication stamp for the AFM: The KEP center is where you must go in order to collect an authentication stamp on the declaration form (POA) issued by the tax representative. For more information about the AFM, read our article How Do I Get a TIN (AFM) in Greece?

Locating a Citizen Service Center (KEP)

There are two ways to locate a KEP office in your area:

  1. Online Search: Search online using the name of your municipality or the desired area you want to visit and the term "ΚΕΠ" to find the closest KEP office.
  2. KEP Map: On the KEP website, you can find a map of Greece that helps locate KEP offices. By selecting a specific region or municipality, you can get details like the KEP code, address, postal code (T.K.), telephone, fax, and email. Please note, the map is available only in Greek.

Operating Hours - Online Service

Please be aware that KEP offices may have varying hours, and some may require appointments. You can schedule one online through Gov.gr by providing your full name, email, phone number, and address, though Taxisnet credentials are needed.

You can also book an online call with a KEP representative, but you must be present during the call. Many services are also available through the KEP online platform. Since these platforms are in Greek, it’s recommended to call ahead to confirm operating hours and other details for your visit.

As the online platforms are in Greek, we advice you to call before your visit to confirm the specific operating hours and details for the KEP office you plan to visit.
